You never know when a well-stocked emergency car kit, which is exactly why it’s so important to have one on-hand at all times. If your vehicle doesn’t have an emergency kit ready to go, here’s what you need to get one together.
Have a first aid pack somewhere easily accessible and fill it with items that are easy-to-use. Be sure this includes bandages, bandage wrap, antiseptic, tweezers, cloth rags, pain relievers, sanitizer gel, gauze, and tweezers. For all you outdoorsy types, consider including some bug spray, blankets, and hand warmers as well.
Any situation will feel less dire if you can take a snack break in the middle. Always keep a stash of bottled water and non-perishable snacks in your car, such as granola bars, trail mix, or beef jerky.
Even if you’re not confident when it comes to car repair, there are a few items you can include in your emergency car kit that are straight-forward enough for anyone to operate. You’ll be happy to have on hand: rags, a flashlight with extra batteries, jumper cables, tarp, duct tape, road flares, and a multipurpose tool.
